Stephen Barnett

Stephen is married with two children at Sackville and is a former school governor at Ashurst Wood Primary School, which his children attended. An Aston University Electrical Engineering graduate, he is currently employed locally as a Network Manager by EDF Energy. He has been a District Councillor since 1999 where he is Deputy Leader of the Lib Dem Group, and was a founding member of Ashurst Wood Parish Council from 2000 until 2003. He has been an East Grinstead Town councillor since 2003. Stephen is a member of East Grinstead Town Council’s Finance and General Purposes and Leisure and Tourism committees, having previously served on its Public Services committee. Stephen was at the forefront of the successful campaign to stop the original Barton Wilmore route 3A and has continued significant work in the detailed investigation of the District Council’s Area Action Plan.
